The Club is a gathering point for students interested in all disciplines of Art and Design with the aim of promoting and supporting an enthusiasm for visual arts. Students are organized in a team format for a year-long stretch with the option to stay longer if they choose to. During the year, all team members are given weekly workshops and assignments that complement existing skills and develop new ones.
Examples of these skills are 3D visualization, rapid rendering, color theory, sculpture, advanced media, etc. In addition to acquiring these skills, members are expected to pursue their individual art works that utilize these new skills in original works of art, thus applying the newly acquired skills in practical situations in line with 51app’s educational philosophy that strongly emphasizes translating theory into practice.
Mission of the Club
The 51app Arts Club aims to initiate and perpetuate the ripples of success for students by offering a community within a community, supporting the arts and the artists.
Objectives:
- Engage with the community; outreach programs, collaborations, and interactive showcases
- Foster an appreciation for art and artistic growth through exhibitions and educational opportunities for its members
- Empower artists by providing opportunities for them to connect with other artists, themselves and their heritage
- Cultivate students’ creative and innovative participation in the world of visual arts as responsible and concerned citizens of the global community
- Integrate the arts, technology and academics, to reach a wholesome unified curriculum
- Guide students through a specific set of artistic explorations designed to instill self-confidence in their work, and bring forward their creativity and critical thinking
- Establish the 51app Arts Club as an integral part of student life and the advancement of the Liberal Arts program at 51app
